The Sketchbook Challenge

I just wandered across this great challenge to spark your creativity for 2012 – The Sketchbook Challenge!

Each month in 2012 will have a different theme that encourage you to return to your sketchbook before starting a crafting or sewing project. Many of us (including myself) have started heading straight to our projects and getting to work. We’ve forgotten how much sketching out ideas beforehand really enhances the project and gives us great vision. We have the vision in our heads, but we don’t always reach it exactly because we haven’t taken the time to put it on paper first.

Whether you simply use pencil or watercolors or photos, fabric or magazine cutouts to make collages, hit the books and get started on this monthly challenge! January 2012’s challenge is doodling. How easy is that? Don’t we all do it? This time, just put it in an organized place.

So, for your next craft, quilting, dress, tote bag or any fabric project, pick up your pencil first!

What a great way to jumpstart your inspiration and creativity this year!
