The hole at the top of a sewing needle is called the eye of the needle.

I wanna say eye of the Tiger just to be silly, but it is the eye of the needle.  I just wonder why mine always seems to be winking when I want to thread it????  :D

The hole on the end of the needle is called the “eye”... which brings up a painful memory… a few years ago, I was walking on our carpeted floor, when “OUCH”, I stepped on a needle.  All I could find was the “pointy” end stuck in the carpet, so figured (HOPED!) that it just stuck in and came out.  Nope….  A few days later, a small red line appeared on my foot going up my ankle—first thought—Tetanus!  Ran to the doctor, had an exray—you could see the eye of the needle- plain as day!  LOL Ended up having to have surgery to remove that needle (still have it in a bottle somewhere around here- to remind me to be more careful with needles!)...

What a great story, Gwen – even though it sounds very painful!

Of, course the answer is the eye. Can’t fool you guys, right?!

Cheryl B – I hope your niece loves this fabric! You are this week’s winner!

My little niece Lily loves it when I sew her “Dancing With The Stars” dresses. This will make a fantastic ballroom dress!!

I really enjoy the questions in your giveaways.
