Chanel Exhibit in Charlotte is a Must!
November 09, 2011
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
― Coco Chanel
If you love fashion and you love classic fashion, you should try to make the Coco Chanel exhibit if you live in the Charlotte area. It’s a small exhibit with about 15 garments, but includes dresses, coats and suits. Many of the designs are by Karl Lagerfeld for the House of Chanel. As Coco Chanel was the visionary behind the “little black dress” concept, there was one of her designs included in the exhibit.
I had some extra time one afternoon and went to check it out. I definitely had some favorites and have attached photos of them. The detail and the fabrics are beautiful. You can click on the images to view them in larger detail.
If you get a chance to see the exhibit, head over to the Mint Museum on Randolph in Charlotte and see them in person. If you aren’t in Charlotte, you can view a few more of the dresses on the Mint Museum website.
“There is nothing more comfortable than a caterpillar and nothing more made for love than a butterfly. We need dresses that crawl and dresses that fly. Fashion is at once a captapillar and a butterfly, caterpillar by day, butterfly by night”
― Coco Chanel
