April Johnston Celebrates Halloween – Looking Forward to new Spring Fabric Collection
November 04, 2011
With Halloween over, we all know that Christmas is hiding just around the corner, I better behave myself until then! October was full of buzz in the world of April and with the launch of my new fabric line at Jo Ann’s I made two appearances, one in my hometown of Mooresville, NC and the other in Savannah, GA where I currently reside. It was nice to meet a lot of new faces and chat with familiar ones about season 9 that just ended and the upcoming All Stars spin off in January 2012. As most of you might be startled about the change in plans for the airing date of Project Runway All Stars, don’t worry All Stars will set off the new year in the most fashionable way possible! I finished off the month of October with a big bang by hosting my annual Halloween Bash at my old victorian home in downtown Savannah. I invited all my closest friends and made tasty treats such as… Devilish Eggs, Spiked Shrunken Head Cider, Severed Tuna Seviche, and Dirt with worms! It was all sorts of fun, and afterwards we headed downtown to show off our creative costumes!
This month I will be performing the Paso Doble for CASA Dancing with the Savannah Stars on the 10th at the Lucas Theatre! I will post pictures to my blog as soon as it’s over so you all can see my great costume I made! Yesterday I went to a fundraising event at Bleubelle Bridal for CASA. You had to pay to try on wedding gowns to raise money for CASA, well I tried on a white, yes .... white wedding gown. It was hilarious to see myself in a white wedding gown, I have been engaged for a year almost and have not tried on one gown. Obviously I will be making my own dress so no need to try on dresses, but hey this was for a great cause and it was a lot of fun. Plus I had my stylist friend Blake with me to “Jack me up” as they call it on “Say Yes to the Dress”, so that made it all the more entertaining.
This weekend I will be running the Rock N’ Roll Marathon in Savannah with my mom, she’s a beast at these things so I will try to just keep up with her. It sure does help that we will be running in one of the most beautiful cities in America as well.
I saw the samples of the Spring line coming to Jo Ann’s in January and you all are going to be blown away! These fabrics are shabby chic and very etherial perfect for some great spring dresses, be sure to pick them up in January!
