In celebration of Earth Day, and our support of our fans, during the month of April, Springs Creative will be posting ideas for you to use all of your fabric scraps. Send us your ideas and photos and we’ll share them on our blog.
First project idea this month for fabric scraps – BARBIE CLOTHES! Did you hear that Ken turned 50 last month? Reading that the other day reminded me of the Barbie clothes that my grandmother used to make for me. My grandmother was a master at using fabric scraps for projects and the Barbie clothes she made for me were so beautiful! As I learned to sew when I was a teenager, I developed a better appreciation for the craftsmanship that was behind her work and designs. To me, sewing small projects is like painting small paintings – the smaller it is, the more difficult it seems to be.
With this blog are pictures of some of my favorite Barbie clothes my grandmother made. Granny was by far the best seamstress I’ve known!

I use scraps to make burp cloths for the grands or gifties.
