A Rose is a Rose is a Rose

Our Archive houses decades of design styles as they have been created,
recreated and reinterpreted over the last 200 years. Designers and stylists
have always looked back to their predecessors for inspiration and direction
as design trends are reinvented and repurposed. Reinterpretation of past
styling coexists with the new generation’s unique way of seeing – all for
the benefit of today’s consumer. A rose pattern, the perennial favorite of
print motifs, as seen by a devotee of the Arts and Crafts Movement in
1910 (pictured at center), gets a decidedly different treatment by an artist in 1961 (pictured at right). Each one is distinct to its time, yet some looks remain constant, as noted by the timeless style of a beautifully rendered flower in 1890 (pictured at left). Our design past can give as much as the imagination asks of it. For more about the Springs Creative Archives, go to http://www.springscreative.com/the-collaboratory-and-design-center/
